SIMON MANSELL: Simon Mansell established Temple Bar in order to offer client’s independent, impartial advice in recognition that the more discerning client should not be restricted to the products of only one provider or a limited panel of providers or funds. Simon is a graduate with a BA (Hons) degree in Law and is certificated in financial planning by the Chartered Insurance Institute. As part of his legal training he studied Equity and the Law of Trusts, Probate & Wills, Revenue Law, Commercial Law, Contract Law, Family Law Conveyance Law, Land Law (and many others areas) have been studied to degree level.
In anticipation of the new Financial Services Authority (FSA) Retail Distribution Review (RDR) requirements Simon studied and was awarded by examination The ifs Diploma for Financial Advisers (DipFA®), which is an FSA-approved QCF Level 4 qualification. It is equivalent to a first year degree level qualification in financial planning. The (DipFA®) fully meets the FSA requirements for their Retail Distribution Review (RDR) which comes into force after 2012 and this in combination with Simons degree backgrounds offers clients a highly professional service commensurate with other professional services such as solicitors, accountants and stockbrokers.
Simon is a well known industry commentator and has recently contributed to The BBC Radio, James Hazel Show following the publication of one of his financial reports into the ageing population of the UK. The Daily Express also reported on this study 01/11/10. In addition Simon has written and contributed towards many articles and publications including: FT.com, Money Marketing, The New Model Adviser and The House of Lord Select Committee on the Constitution 2003-04
RICHARD OWEN - Generic Adviser: Richard graduated in 1969 from Southampton University with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and trained as an Actuary with Sun Life Assurance in the City Of London. In 1972 Richard branched out into sales and sales management of a brokerage in Holborn arranging mortgages, commercial finance, life assurance and investment plans. Since 1982 Richard has spent most of his career at Director level for National and Plc Companies mainly within the role of Sales and Marketing. In addition to his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Richard holds the Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice (CeMap), a qualification examined and awarded by the Chartered Institute of Bankers and accredited by The Mortgage Code Compliance Board. More elderly clients will be pleased to know Richard also holds the Certificate in Regulated Equity Release (CeRER). Richard acts as a Generic Adviser. European Law states that regulated advice is only regulated where specific products are mentioned. Richard task is to advise and to charge for that advice but this advice will be free of product recommendation and will not be product based or have a product bias. You will be free to place your business where you will. Richard will not recommend any specific products. Richards spare time is spent with family and activities mainly involved with his local Church.
ANNETTE MILLER - Accounts Manager: The role of the accounts manager is to be responsible for maintaining an efficient and accurate accounting system within Templebar Ltd. The overall financial health of the business is supported from this area through the delivery of effective accounts receivable and payable services to the business. Annette works closely with Simon Mansell, discussing business strategies and improvements for the business together with all financial matters. Annette is responsible for managing strategic profit and loss accounts, staff salaries, taxation, end of year reporting, costings for the business, banking and analysis of commission payment reconciliation. Annette ‘s previous work experience was with Hereford and Worcester County Coucil as the Finance Officer. The duties included balancing analysis of cash taken, accounts preparation, staff wages and Student Grants. Annette has attained a Higher National Diploma in Public Administration in 1988, which has helped her gain experience in the accounting sector.
LOUISE PLANT - Office Manager: Louise deals with all the post sale administration here at Temple Bar. If you have a problem with an application, valuation or general query it is most likely Louise will be your first point of contact. Louise works closely with Simon Mansell on case preparation and completion. She acts as intermediary between client and product provider with regard to day-to-day administration, making sure the office is running smoothly and efficiently. Louise has spent most of her career as a Customer Services and Systems Supervisor, focusing on excellent customer service, administrative skills in banking, managerial duties, order processing maintaining, company systems and working as part of a team. Louise holds a BTEC First and National Diploma in Business and Finance, which she acquired while at College. This covered business Law, Administrative Systems, Financial planning, accountancy procedures and Personnel Policies and Procedures. Louise has RSA Typing level 1 and 2 qualification. Whist taking a short break to raise her young family, Louise returned to working life, working for a busy solicitors firm. This covered the administration duties of conveyancying (buying and selling homes), probate documents, will drafting, customer liasing and general administration duties and queries.
EMMA BRADSHAW: Emma manages a variety of reception and administrative duties in support of our independent financial advice proposition. Your calls are important to us and as such, you will "always" be answered in a professional manner. Within our normal office hours (9-5) , an answer phone will “never” greet you! Emma will be informed of the daily activities of our team and will be able to either put you through to the appropriate person or if that person is busy take a note of your call and advise you accordingly. In an emergency Emma will also be instructed to intercept a member of our advice team wherever they are. The needs of our clients do not stop for holidays, lunch or sickness and we guarantee that your calls will always be met with a professional response, recorded and passed on to the appropriate person.
