Lasting Power of AttorneyLasting Power of Attorney for Health and Welfare

It is a fact that we are all living longer, but unfortunately this means that in many cases people become unable to manage their affairs themselves as they get older. A Lasting Power of Attorney enables a person to choose friends or family to do this.

There are two types of Lasting Power of Attorney

For Health and Welfare which covers decisions made for medical reasons and care homes.

For Property and Financial Affairs which covers decisions made for bank account and selling property.

You can choose one or both of them. A Lasting Power of Attorney needs to be executed before the person loses capacity and therefore everyone should consider making at least a LastingPower of Attorney for Property and Financial Affairs as they move towards retirement.
